July 15, 1952 - July 4, 2019

As President of the Easton Branch of the NAACP, I speak for all of us who are deeply saddened by the loss of our friend, colleague and member, Penny VanTassel.  She was an ever-giving, kind, caring, benevolent, and respected individual who strived for equitable treatment for all.  She loved “doing community work.”

“My technical, leadership and troubleshooting skill are being used in many areas. I am able to relate to high school students with their efforts in forming an organized group while doing community work. I think it is a great accomplishment when you can duplicate yourself.”

She was the CEO of PDS Enterprises, a company which provides word of mouth advertising for products such as energy, telecommunications, audio, Medicare insurance, skincare and essential oils.  Her company also served as a consultant to community groups such as teenage organizations, non-profit groups and people interested in becoming entrepreneurs.  Life Coaching for woman was paramount:

“It is my dream to empower woman to feel confident, changed, valued and, connected towards growth so that, they may contribute to their community, state and the world.”

Penny served as Youth Council Advisor at the high school; was Audio Engineer at Greater Shiloh Church; was on numerous boards (Board of Directors for Meals on Wheels, Northampton County, former Spring Garden Children’s Center, Northampton County Children, Youth and Families Advisory Board and the Easton Area Diversity Committee).

Her smile, laughter, determination, commitment and no-nonsense attitude will be missed by all.  A true servant.
